Vikrant Massey's The Sabarmati Report pays tribute to the 59 lives lost in the Godhra train burning, release date out
The first look of the Vikrant Massey starrer The Sabarmati Report is out now. The movie is a homage to the 59 lives lost in the 2002 Godhra train burning.
The makers of the Vikrant Massey starrer The Sabarmati Report released the announcement teaser of the movie. The film has also gotten a release date. Directed by Ranjan Chandel, the movie is based on the brutal burning of 59 people aboard the Sabarmati Express near the Godhra railway station while returning from a pilgrimage from Ayodhya in the year 2002. The video was released today (February 27) which also marks the day when the incident took place.
Talking about the same, the teaser shows Vikrant playing a reporter Sabar Kumar who can be seen reporting the news of the Godhra train burning in Hindi. We can see his boss asking for the reporting to be done in English but the English reporter seems to be unwell. While Vikrant’s character reports the news, he is unhappy to see the news shown as an accident in the teleprompter. He also tells the showrunners that the incident is not a mere accident. We then also see some flashes of the incident being shown on the screen. Take a look at the same.

We see the words, ‘22 years later, 2 official reports and multiple investigations later’ being etched on the screen. The release date of the movie is May 3, 2024. The movie has been produced by Ekta Kapoor. It also stars Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in the lead roles.
Fans also started reacting to The Sabarmati Report’s first look. Meanwhile, Vikrant’s last film 12th Fail witnessed a massive success and critical acclaim at the box office. He played the real-life character of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. It also starred Medha Shankar in the lead roles.
