Viduthalai Part 2: First single Dhinam Dhinamum from Vijay Sethupathi-Vetrimaaran film to drop very soon!

Ilaiyaraaja is set to return as the composer for Vetrimaaran and Vijay Sethupathi's highly anticipated sequel Viduthalai Part 2. Here's when the first single will be released.

After a long wait, the makers of Vetrimaaran’s directorial Viduthalai Part 2 have finally dropped a new update! Taking the internet by storm, they announced that the first single from Vijay Sethupathi and Soori’s film will be released on November 17, 2024. Ahead of the film’s December release, the team has decided to kick-start promotions with its musical debut.

Titled “Dhinam Dhinamum,” the makers shared the announcement, writing:

"Director #VetriMaaran's #ViduthalaiPart2 - first single track #DhinamDhinamum releasing on Nov 17th. #ViduthalaiPart2FromDec20An @ilaiyaraaja Musical.”

As previously announced, Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetrimaaran, is set to hit the big screens on December 20, 2024. The first installment, released last year, was an instant blockbuster. Although the sequel faced several delays in completing the shoot, it’s now poised to join the Christmas box office race.

Directed by Vetrimaaran, Viduthalai Part 2 boasts an ensemble cast, with notable roles played by Soori, Prakash Raj, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Ilavarasu, among others. Set in the 1960s, the film will feature Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as the female lead.

Vijay Sethupathi in Viduthalai Part 2

As reported earlier, the filmmaker has incorporated de-aging technology for Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier’s younger versions in Viduthalai Part 2. They are reportedly playing a married couple, with the story primarily focusing on Vijay Sethupathi’s character, Perumal Vaathiyaar.

The film is produced by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran under RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music, while Velraj serves as the cinematographer.

Based on Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan, the film’s premise explores the conflict between a police constable and the leader of a separatist group.
