The makers shared a BTS clip from the sets of Vidaamuyarchi. The production house’s X (formerly Twitter) profile shared a clip from the sets that featured Ajith and his co-star Aarav getting into a car accident. In the clip, Ajith is driving a Hummer with Aarav in the passenger seat, as the car wheels through a highway before flipping off the road. The clip from inside the car featured Ajith, while Aarav tied up in his seat.
The scene reminds us of the iconic scene from the 1997 Hollywood road action thriller Breakdown, where the protagonist, played by Kurt Russell, ties up the character Earl, played by M. C. Gainey, while racing through the highways in search of his wife. This makes us believe that Aarav might be playing the secondary antagonist, similar to Gainey’s character in the original film.
As reported earlier, Vidaamuyarchi is the official remake of the 1997 cult classic Hollywood film Breakdown. The action thriller revolves around a couple who find themselves in trouble when their car breaks down in a deserted region and the wife is kidnapped. The movie is about the husband's frantic search for his missing wife that includes a string of crimes.
Besides Ajith and Aarav, the film also stars Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra in key roles. Arjun is set to play the primary antagonist in the film, which is expected to be released in Diwali 2024.
