After teasing fans with the highly hyped teaser, the makers of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming and much-anticipated film Vettaiyan have now announced that the trailer will be dropping soon. Sharing a dashing poster of the leading man himself, the makers revealed that the trailer of TJ Gnanavel's directorial cop drama will be released on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.

Announcing the update, the makers wrote, “The Target is set! The VETTAIYAN trailer is dropping on October 2nd. Get ready to catch the prey. #Vettaiyan releasing on 10th October in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi & Kannada!”
Vettaiyan is all set for its grand solo release this Dussehra season on October 10, 2024. With less than 10 days until its release, the hype surrounding the film is palpable.
Rajinikanth compares Vettaiyan to Darbar
During a recent press interaction, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth was asked about his experience working on the TJ Gnanavel directorial. He shared his confidence in the film and expressed excitement for audiences to see it. Comparing it to his earlier film Darbar, Rajinikanth stated, "Expectations for Vettaiyan are immense, and I am sure it will meet them. Although both Darbar and Vettaiyan are cop dramas, Vettaiyan offers a fresh and unique perspective that distinguishes it from Darbar."
Vettaiyan is directed by Jai Bhim fame director TJ Gnanavel and features a star-studded cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Shaji Chen, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and GM Sundar. According to the reports, Rajinikanth plays an encounter specialist, while Rana Daggubati will be playing the antagonist. Fahadh Faasil is rumored to play Rajinikanth’s close aide. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is said to make an extended cameo appearance as a judge, while Malayalam actress Manju Warrier will portray Rajinikanth’s wife. Reports also suggest that the film will focus on the education system and promises to be a hard-hitting story exposing corruption within it.
