Vettaiyan OTT partner revealed: Rajinikanth-starrer’s digital rights bagged by THIS platform

Recently, Rajinikanth revealed that his upcoming film Vettaiyan has finalized its theatrical release date. However, in the latest development, the film, directed by TJ Gnanavel, has sold its OTT rights to a major platform! According to the latest reports, the film’s OTT rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime for a massive price. The film will be available for streaming on the OTT giant after its theatrical run. 

Vettaiyan to have a Dussehra release?

Earlier, superstar and leading man Rajinikanth, during his meeting with a yogi in the Himalayas, discussed his upcoming projects. During one of the conversations, the actor revealed the release date of the film. He mentioned that the movie is currently in its production stage and is slated for release on October 10, 2024. “I have completed my portions. The shooting with other members of the cast is still going on. The film will be released on October 10 or so.” With Jr NTR’s Devara also scheduled for October 10, 2024, fans of Tamil and Telugu cinema can expect a major clash this Dussehra festive season.

Vettaiyan plot and cast

Directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, Vettaiyan stars Rajinikanth, who is said to be playing the role of a cop in the upcoming action drama. Revolving around the fight against a social issue, the film boasts a massive star cast, featuring prominent stars from various industries, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Shaji Chen, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and GM Sundar, among others.

Earlier reports indicated that Telugu star Rana Daggubati will play the antagonist in the upcoming film. According to sources, Rana's character is a tech-savvy individual adept at bugging laptops and gadgets but later gets exposed by Rajinikanth’s character. Rana has reportedly worked on the look of his character, who operates from a swanky corporate office in the film. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the original score for the film.
