    Superstar Rajinikanth and director TJ Gnanavel’s dream collaboration, Vettaiyan, is all set to hit the big screens on October 10, 2024. With less than five days remaining before its grand worldwide release, the film has been generating palpable buzz among fans, who are excited to watch their favorite stars on the big screen this Vijayadashami.

    Here's how much Vettaiyan has already collected at the box office:

    Even before its release, the film seems to be breaking box office records, with the latest update being its unstoppable pre-sales collection. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie has already crossed $1 million (₹8.50+ crores) for the opening day, including $700K+ in North America. In Malaysia, over 10,000 tickets worth $50K+ have been sold for the opening day so far.

    However, the pre-sales for Vettaiyan aren't as strong as those for Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which opened with ₹40 crores ($4.75 million). With four days left before its release, the film is projected to open in the ₹20-30 crore range, depending on the final sales figures.

    The film recently completed its censor formalities and received a U/A certificate, with a runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes. According to the censor certificate circulating online, the movie required only minor edits, such as brief replacements and muting, without any major changes. With these formalities now complete, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the highly anticipated commercial drama.
