Rajinikanth and filmmaker TJ Gnanavel's latest cop drama, Vettaiyan, is inching towards success even before completing its first week in theaters. The film, which hit the big screens during the Dussehra festive season, continues to perform well at the box office. Featuring a star-studded cast, including Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, here's how much the film earned during its opening weekend:

According to industry trackers, Vettaiyan kicked off with an impressive start, earning approximately Rs 32 crore on its opening day. By the end of its first weekend, the film had already surpassed the ₹200 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Reports also reveal that the movie has outperformed the lifetime collection of Kamal Haasan and S Shankar's Indian 2. In India, Vettaiyan crossed Rs 104 crore within just four days. The film has been doing well in neighboring states such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, achieving a 57.25 percent occupancy rate in Tamil Nadu. Interestingly, it has also emerged as the highest-grossing film in Kerala this year, with a collection exceeding Rs 14 crore. The film seems to be performing well in other regions too and is expected to continue minting strong numbers in the days ahead.
Currently, Vettaiyan ranks as the sixth biggest opener, following Kalki 2898 AD featuring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1, Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time, Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, and Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram.
