Amitabh Bachchan in Vettaiyan
Ahead of the much-awaited release of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Vettaiyan, the makers have been teasing fans with glimpses and poster releases. Earlier, the makers had unveiled the prevue or teaser of the film, which introduced all the major characters, giving a sneak peek into the crux of the story. Although the teaser opened to positive responses, it was the dubbing for the iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan that caught the attention of many.
Prakash Raj dubs for Amitabh Bachchan
For context, actor Prakash Raj had initially dubbed for Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the film. However, when the teaser was released, audiences criticized the makers for the dubbing, noting that Prakash Raj’s voice failed to match the legendary Bollywood actor. Following the backlash, the makers have now modified the voice, with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
Recently, the makers showcased the teaser during the screening of Meiyazhagan and Devara in theatres, where audiences noticed the change in the newly modified version. The new version has also been uploaded on YouTube and has been receiving positive responses.
For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of Sathyadev and is set to make an extended cameo appearance as a judge in the film, although an official confirmation is still awaited.
The upcoming film also marks the long-awaited reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen after more than three decades. The two legendary actors previously appeared together in films such as Andha Kanoon (1983), Geraftaar (1985), and Hum (1991). Since Hum, the two stars haven’t worked together, making Vettaiyan a highly anticipated film for fans of both actors.
