Vanangaan update: Trailer of Arun Vijay and Bala’s film to be out on THIS date

Director Bala’s ambitious project Vanangaan is gearing up for release this month. The makers have announced that the trailer for the film will be out on July 8. Arun Vijay took to his social media handles to share the trailer release date and dropped an intriguing poster featuring his character from the film.

Vanangaan is Bala’s maiden collaboration with Arun Vijay and is set to be an action drama.

Written, directed, and co-produced by Bala, Vanangaan has Arun playing the lead role. The teaser, released earlier, showcased the actor’s gritty avatar. The film is set in Kanyakumari, with the teaser showing Arun's character being handcuffed by cops. 

Roshni Prakash, who plays the female lead, appears in various looks, including Swami Vivekananda and in a saint-like white saree. One scene also shows Arun's character punching her. The teaser further depicts Arun ruthlessly fighting goons and rising from a well, covered in mud and holding sculptures of Lord Ganesh and social reformer Periyar.

Will Arun Vijay be able to prove his mettle in Vanangaan?

Vanangaan is among the most eagerly awaited films for Tamil cinephiles. It was initially offered to Suriya. When Suriya backed out due to creative differences, Arun Vijay was brought on board. Director Bala stated, “I didn't want to let down my younger brother (Suriya), who believes in me and respects me so much. So, after mutual discussion, we have both decided to let Suriya off the film.”

However, fans remain skeptical about Arun Vijay’s role, criticising the director for potentially repeating characterisations seen in his previous films like Pithamagan. Fans hope that Vanangaan will be different from Bala’s other works and that Arun Vijay will prove his abilities, with Suriya’s fans eager to see his performance.

Vanangaan Cast and Crew

Bala’s upcoming action drama will feature many stars, including Arun Vijay, Mysskin, Roshni Prakash, and Samuthirakani, who play pivotal roles in the film. GV Prakash Kumar has scored the original background score and soundtracks for the film, while Sathish Suriya has handled the editing. The film is jointly produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions and Bala's B Studios.
