The wait is over! The trailer for Arun Vijay and director Bala’s most awaited film Vanangaan is here. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the intriguing trailer. Leading man Arun Vijay unveiled the surprise on his official handles, writing, “To capture your hearts and take you on a magical journey of Dir @IyakkunarBala sir's creation.. Here's the #Vanangaan trailer for you all!!”

The new trailer opens with a crime scene as the cops investigate the murder of two victims. When the magistrate asks for the motive of the murderer, the investigators have no answer to the question. It is clear that the murder has been committed by Arun Vijay’s character. The trailer then showcases heartwarming moments between Arun Vijay’s character and the female leads. The trailer has effectively built tension without revealing many details about the plot. From his looks to his angry thug personality, Arun Vijay’s characterization might remind you of Bala’s classics such as Pithamagan. Interestingly, Arun Vijay doesn’t utter a single dialogue in the film, making us wonder if he is playing a speech-impaired man. 

Overall, the intriguing trailer has captured our attention, and we cannot wait to see Bala’s magic on the big screen soon! 

Will Vanangaan give Arun Vijay his much-needed breakthrough?

Vanangaan is one of the most eagerly awaited films by Tamil cinephiles. Initially offered to Suriya, the role was later given to Arun Vijay after Suriya backed out due to creative differences. Director Bala explained, “I didn't want to let down my younger brother (Suriya), who believes in me and respects me so much. So, after mutual discussion, we have both decided to let Suriya off the film.” 

While a few fans are sceptical about Arun Vijay’s role, criticizing the director for potentially repeating characterizations seen in his previous films like Pithamagan and Avan Ivan, some fans are impressed by the actor’s performance after the trailer dropped. Fans hope that Vanangaan will stand out from Bala’s other works and that Arun Vijay will showcase his abilities.

Vanangaan cast and crew

Besides the lead cast, the film also features Mysskin, Roshni Prakash, and Samuthirakani, who play pivotal roles. GV Prakash Kumar has scored the original background score and soundtracks for the film, while Sathish Suriya has handled the editing. The film is jointly bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions and Bala's B Studios. 

Although the release date is yet to be revealed, the makers had earlier stated that the film would be out in July 2024.
