Vaazha OTT release date: When and where to watch Anand Meneon’s coming-of-age movie

    The latest Malayalam coming-of-age comedy-drama Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys is all set to make its digital debut soon. OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar recently announced that the hit film will be available for streaming starting from September 23, 2024.

    Sharing the official poster of the film, the OTT giant wrote, "ഇനി വാഴ നാട് വാഴും..The Biopic of A Billion Boys - Vaazha will be streaming from September 23 on Disney+ Hotstar.”

    Directed by debutant Anand Menon, the Malayalam film stars Hashir, Saafboi, Amith, Anuraj O B, Anu, Mohan Rajeswari, and Joemon Jyothir. It revolves around a group of friends often dismissed as troublemakers by their parents and others around them. As they grow older, they face immense social pressure, leading them on a difficult path of self-acceptance and personal growth.

    Upon its initial release, the film received overwhelming praise from audiences, who commended the makers for delivering an entertaining comedy. Viewers expressed that the film’s light-hearted first half sets the stage well, transitioning into an emotionally impactful second half that is handled with care. Standout elements include strong performances from the cast and a powerful soundtrack that energizes the theater. While the second half becomes slightly preachy, the film remains relatable and engaging throughout.

    Vaazha sequel in the making

    Earlier, the makers of Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys announced a sequel to the Malayalam film. Produced by Vipin Das of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, the sequel will be directed by Savin SA. The film will be produced by Vipin Das, Harris Desom, PB Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Cinemas. Actors Hashir, Alan, Ajin, and Vinayak will return for the sequel, with Akhil Lailasuran serving as the cinematographer.
