Top Telugu star backs survivor in Jani Master case, offers work

A major Telugu film star has stepped forward to show support for the survivor in the ongoing sexual abuse case against popular choreographer Jani Master. The star not only offered solidarity but also promised to provide the survivor with work opportunities in the film industry, further strengthening her resolve as the investigation continues. 

Jani Master is under investigation following allegations of sexually abusing one of his assistants over a period of several years. The accusations came to light after the alleged survivor, with the help of a women's support organization, filed an FIR against him.

The survivor also approached the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) with her complaint. Initially, the chamber believed it was a case of a talented individual struggling to find the right opportunities in the industry. However, upon further questioning, the TFCC realized the seriousness of the allegations and assisted the victim in reporting the case to the police.

Actress Jhansi, who is heading a committee investigating the matter, revealed that the survivor has found significant support within the Telugu film industry.

"A big hero sent his manager to express his full support to the victim. He told her, 'We are with you in this fight,' and even promised work opportunities for her. She has since secured a job with a major production house, led by a big director," Jhansi shared.

Jhansi said that the survivor first approached her with complaints of being denied work. TFCC promptly took action to rectify this. However, the full extent of her experience, which included sexual abuse, came as a shock to the chamber.

Jhansi disclosed that the survivor was a minor when the alleged abuse began. When we spoke to her, it became clear this wasn’t just about harassment at the workplace. The situation extended over a prolonged period under the guise of preferential treatment, which made it more grievous," she said. 

Jani Master is a powerful figure in the Telugu film fraternity and has also gained prominence in the Tamil film industry. He is known for choreographing hit songs like Kaavaalaa, Arabic Kuthu, and Ranjithame, among others.
