Thuppakki re-release: Here’s when you can watch Vijay’s blockbuster action thriller on the big screen again!

With Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday approaching, fans have an early surprise awaiting them! Thalapathy fans will get to watch the re-release of the 2012 blockbuster Thuppakki starting June 21, 2024, according to the latest reports. The film is set to re-release across multiple screens in Tamil Nadu. This update from theatre distributors has created a huge wave among fans who have been eagerly waiting to watch the 2012 blockbuster on the big screen again. 

Not just Thuppakki, another Vijay film to have a re-release too!

However, AR Murugadoss and Vijay’s Thuppakki isn't the only surprise awaiting Thalapathy fans this June 21! As reported earlier, it has been confirmed that the superhit action thriller Pokkiri is also gearing up for a massive global re-release on June 21, 2024. The makers of Pokkiri decided to release the blockbuster film in theatres once again in June as part of Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday celebrations. The latest news about Thuppakki and Pokkiri re-releasing on Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday has left fans of Tamil cinema’s biggest crowd-puller thrilled!

Pokkiri and Thuppakki

Directed by cinematographer-actor-director Prabhudeva, the 2007 blockbuster Pokkiri was an official remake of Mahesh Babu’s film of the same title. Headlined by Vijay, the film featured Asin as the love interest, with Prakash Raj, Nassar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vadivelu, Sriman, and Napoleon in supporting roles. The film revolves around Thamizh, a criminal with no ties, who would do any dirty job for money. 

On the other hand, Thuppakki, directed by AR Murugadoss, stars Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead while Vidyut Jammwal plays the antagonist. This Vijay-starrer revolves around terror attacks in Mumbai and features music by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by Santosh Sivan.

Vijay’s upcoming film: The Greatest of All Time

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his 68th film, The Greatest of All Time, a sci-fi drama directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on September 5, 2024.
