Malayalam actor Joju George, who plays a pivotal role in Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s upcoming action thriller Thug Life, has sustained an injury on the sets of the film. The shoot was going on in Puducherry. According to some reports, the actor was performing a stunt sequence where he had to jump from a helicopter.
Joju George fractures his leg during the Thug Life shoot
In the shot, Joju George, along with Kamal Haasan and Nasser, had to jump from the helicopter. However, Joju didn't land correctly, which resulted in him fracturing his left foot. He was immediately given medical assistance and taken to the hospital for further treatment.
It is said that despite doctors advising Joju bed-rest for a week, the actor chose to continue and complete the shoot. It appears that the actor isn't ready to let go of his dream opportunity and has shown resilience and dedication to his craft.
Thug Life shoot update
The third schedule of Thug Life was recently wrapped up in Puducherry. The Kerala schedule is set to begin soon. About 60% of the shoot for the movie has been completed in over 40 days. Reports indicate that the makers aim to wrap up the entire shooting by August and begin post-production work soon after. If everything goes as scheduled, the makers are eyeing a December 2024 release.
Actors Silambarasan, Ashok Selvan, and others were part of the third schedule. Although it had been reported that Silambarasan is playing a central character in the film, Ashok Selvan’s involvement in the project has been kept under wraps. He has reportedly replaced Jayam Ravi, who was initially cast in the film but backed out.
Kamal Haasan to sport three looks in Thug Life
Earlier reports indicated that Kamal Haasan will have three roles in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. These roles are said to be set in three different timelines. However, these rumours have yet to be confirmed.
