'This will prove to be a fun riot': Hansa, Praful and family return with Khichdi 2, Twitterati laud teaser

The Parekh family, who entertained the audience in the 2010 comedy blockbuster, has returned with its sequel Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan.On Friday, the makers took to social media to announce its release date with a hilarious teaser. The iconic characters Hansa, Praful, Babuji, Himanshu and Jayshree will be back on the big screen to amuse fans with their rib-tickling humour this Diwali. The surprise package is filmmaker Farah Khan, who has joined the cast to add a dash of madness to the upcoming laugh riot.

The teaser gave a sneak peek into the ‘khatarnak mission’.Farah is seen pointing a gun at the Parekh family. Then follows the typical Hansa joke with Himanshu explaining to her the meaning of MRI as NRI. Sharing the teaser, the official Instagram handle of Hats Off Productions wrote, “Iss Diwali, Hasi ka Dhamaka Cinemagharo mein.” Soon after the fans flood social media with positive reactions.

Set against the backdrop of Diwali, the movie will reportedly focus on themes of unity, humanity, forgiveness, and the enduring power of family bonds. Written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, Khichdi 2 stars Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Kirti Kulhari, Jamnadas Majethia in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by Hatsoff Productions, the film is set to release in cinemas the same day as Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3.
