The Wait is finally over Mohanlal's L2: Emupraan will go on floors in August

The highly anticipated sequel to 2019s Lucifer will officially begin shooting this August and will be shot in six foreign locations.
Lucifer which starred Mohanlal and marked Prithviraj's directorial debut is the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time.
Lucifer was made on a budget of 30 crores and managed to gross a massive 175 crores at the box office, the movie was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas with a screenplay by Murali Gopi.
In a recent interview, director Prithviraj revealed that the movie will both be a prequel and sequel to 2019's Lucifer.
The movie will focus on how Stephen Nedumpally rose through the ranks of the international criminal underworld as well focus on the events that take place after the events of Lucifer.
Prithviraj has also hinted that the movie might have a few surprise cameos from actors from both Bollywood and South Indian industries.
Since L2: Empuran is both a prequel and a sequel we can expect to see a majority of the main cast of the original which includes Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Tovnio Thomas, Indrajoth Sukumaran, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar return.
Meanwhile Mohanla is currently busy with director Lijo Jose Pellisery's Malaikottai Valiban which will also mark the first time the duo have collbarated.
While plot details remain under wraps, it is rumored the movie is a period-drama and that Mohanlal will be playing the role of a wrestler named Chemboth Simon.
Mohanlal will also be working with National Award-winning scriptwriter Syam Pushkaran on a new project as well. Syam Pushkaran has confirmed that the project is still in the scripting stage but we will get an official announcement soon.
The actor will also have a cameo in the Rajinikanth action flick Jailer, marking the first time the two stars will be sharing the big screen.
Currently, the actor is enjoying the sucess of the re-release of his 1995 cult hit Spadikam, which hit screens worldwide in early February and is still running in theaters.
