    The Kashmir Files has had a brilliant opening week at the box office emerging as an all time blockbuster already. The film wrapped up its first week at an exciting note and will finally crossing the Rs. 100 crores mark the box office today. By Day 7, the Vivek Agnihotri helmed film has earned a total of Rs. 97.30 crores which beats all predictions which were made for the film.

    The Kashmir Files’ growing popularity through the week also earned the film several more screens. The moved opened in 630 screens facing competition from Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam but is currently running on 4000 screens. Such screen count is usually reserved for mega budget films, however, The Kashmir Files seems to have earned this position because of sheer attention from fans.

    On Day 7, The Kashmir Files earned Rs. 18.05 crores at the box office seeing its first minor dip all week. The highest single day collections of the film were on Thursday as the film earned Rs. 19.05 crores and the Day 7 collections still stand as the second highest single day for the film.

    The Kashmir Files is also expected to do well in the second week despite the competition from Akshay Kumar ’s Bachchhan Paandey which arrives in cinemas today. An opening of Rs. 11 to 13 crores has been predicted for Bachchhan Paandey which is an action comedy, however, the film is in for a tough fight from The Kashmir Files despite opening in 2900-3000 screens.

    Vivek Agnihotri’s film is based on the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and stars Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar in the lead. In the supporting cast are Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Puneet Isaar, Bhasha Sumbli, Chinmay Mandlekar, Prakash Belawadi and Atul Srivastava.
