    Thalapathy Vijay’s latest sci-fi action thriller, The Greatest of All Time, made a massive debut on the big screens on September 5, and continues to create huge waves among fans and audiences. Trending number one on social media platforms, the film has taken the box office by storm. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer features Mic Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Sneha, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, along with some whistle-worthy cameo appearances. Here’s how much the film has collected on its opening day.

    According to reports, the film has managed to collect approximately Rs 55 crore on its opening day. While surpassing Indian 2’s opening day collections, Vijay’s The GOAT has, however, failed to exceed the opening numbers of his previous film, Leo, which made Rs 63 crore nett on its opening day. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film enjoyed a decent Tamil occupancy rate of 76.23%. The Vijay-starrer’s opening day earnings mark the third time a Vijay film has surpassed the Rs 50-crore milestone, making it the fifth Kollywood movie overall to achieve this feat. Despite not having its Hindi version released, the film still managed to make a grand entry at the box office, becoming the biggest opener in Tamil cinema this year. According to reports, the film has also crossed Rs 100 crore worldwide. 

    Ajith in GOAT vs OG?

    As reported earlier, director Venkat Prabhu is poised to introduce another intriguing character in the next installment of The GOAT. The director hinted at the end of the film that it will return with another sequel titled The GOAT vs OG. Although fans speculate that the director might approach actor Ajith to come on board, an official confirmation is still awaited. Reports also indicate that the sequel will focus on the new antagonist, making it ‘A Venkat Prabhu Villain’. 

    Meanwhile, The GOAT centers on Gandhi and his special anti-terrorist squad as they work to resolve problems caused by a previous operation.
