The most anticipated day has arrived, as the biggest Kollywood release, The Greatest of All Time, starring Thalapathy Vijay, has finally hit the big screens. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film also features Mic Mohan, Prashanth, and Meenakshi Chaudhary. The sci-fi actioner revolves around a SATS agent whose life turns upside down when a past operation he and his team conducted backfires. Fans and audiences have been ecstatic since its theatrical debut, thrilled to watch the spectacle on the big screen. Here’s how the FDFS (First Day First Show) goers have been reacting to the film.

The Greatest of All Time X review

Many viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on director Venkat Prabhu for crafting an exhilarating sci-fi thriller, expressing how much they enjoyed every moment of the lead actors on the big screen. One user commented, “#TheGOAT (3.75/5) - Fun festival. It's a fully blown commercial package from @vp_offl. He picks up a neat storyline and keeps the 'moments' coming one after the other until the very end, making it a joyride. #ThalapathyVijay once again proves the amazing star performer he is, showing great variation in the two roles.”

Many users commended director Venkat Prabhu for bringing out Vijay’s comical side in his characterization, noting that other filmmakers had previously failed to do so. Moreover, many fans were particularly amazed by the adrenaline-pumping climax sequence. One user wrote, “#GOAT - 3.5 stars. A VP fanboy service for Thalapathy that’s largely fun, with a cracker of a last 40 minutes. As an action spectacle, it definitely soars, and the international portion gives the film the grandeur it needs. The climax provides the best high as you walk out, and it’s one of the most ambitious sequences of the film.”

Calling the release day as 'Thalapathy Thiruvizha' or Thalapathy's festival, many users have been sharing several videos from the FDFS screening, where fans can be seen cheering and whistling during the surprise cameo appearances. The cameos of some prominent actors and stars have sent fans into a frenzy as they celebrate the best theatrical experience of their favorite idol’s film. One user wrote, “Good first half followed by a decent second half. Opening scene, interval block, matta visuals, and climax are the highlights. So enjoyable to see the charming Thalapathy & Ilaya Thalapathy.”

Overall, The GOAT has been receiving rave reviews from netizens, who have clearly given Venkat Prabhu’s directorial effort a big thumbs up.
