The GOAT: Not Trisha but THIS young actress was initially approached to feature alongside Thalapathy Vijay in Matta song
Here's an interesting revelation behind Trisha's casting in the Matta song from Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time.
Trisha in Matta song
Among the many cameo appearances and surprises, Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha’s energetic dance performance in the song "Matta" from The Greatest of All Time took everyone by surprise. Vijay and Trisha, who are one of the most beloved on-screen pairs in Kollywood, delighted fans with their lively performance. They recreated fan-favorite steps from their iconic dance number "Appadi Podu" from the film Ghilli.
Did you know Trisha was not the first choice for The GOAT's Matta song?
However, did you know that Trisha was not the first choice to pair with Thalapathy Vijay? According to reports, the makers were initially keen on casting Guntur Kaaram-fame Telugu actress Sreeleela. Reports suggest that Sreeleela was excited about the opportunity but ultimately turned it down after seeking advice from her industry peers. She declined the chance to appear alongside Thalapathy Vijay, as she was advised that performing an item song might not be ideal for her career, particularly since she often works with younger actors.
The actress had impressed the makers of Vijay’s The GOAT with her dynamic dance number in the Mahesh Babu-starrer Guntur Kaaram song "Madathapetti." However, Sreeleela declining the offer did not negatively impact the song, as the "Matta" song featuring Trisha turned out to be a chartbuster, with fans thrilled to see the evergreen pair of Trisha and Vijay sharing the screen once again.
Other replacements in the film The GOAT
Earlier, director Venkat Prabhu revealed that he initially wanted to cast Nayanthara as the female lead opposite Vijay. However, the role was later secured by Sneha, who, according to audiences, proved to be the perfect choice.
The Greatest of All Time cast
Besides Thalapathy Vijay, the film boasts a stellar cast, including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Laila, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer. Cameo appearances by Sivakarthikeyan, Trisha, MS Dhoni, and Vijayakanth (AI) were like a cherry on the cake for fans!
