The Flash Trailer - Check out these easy-to-miss references and easter eggs from the trailer
Did you catch these easter eggs from the trailer?
The Flash
The first trailer for the highly anticipated The Flash movie is finally out and DC fans have a lot to be excited about as the trailer is action-packed and filled with throwbacks to old and new DC movies.
In a recent interview, the new head of DC Studios James Gunn said the Flash movie is the best DCEU movie ever made and could be one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.
And from what we see in the trailer it seems that James Gunn was just hyping the movie up before its release. The Flash movie had a troubled production and was delayed several times but it will be finally hitting the big screen this June.
The movie will be a reboot of the DC franchise and will set up the newly formed DCU so that this movie will serve as a farewell to many beloved superhero characters.
So let's look at a few references and easter eggs from the trailer for the Scarlet Speedster's final adventure in this timeline.
The Flash teams up with Batman
In the opening moment of the trailer, we see that Ben Affleck's Batman in a new version of his Batsuit team up with The Flash in order to protect Gotham City.
This is most likely during the movie opening and we also see him asking Bruce Wayne for advice about the consequences of time travel. This is a callback to the opening of The Flashpoint comic where a similar conversation happens between the two.
Barry's signature Ring
We finally get a look at Barry Allen's special ring in which he stores his superhero suit, there is a strong possibility that this could be a gift from Batman, who seems to have taken the role of mentor for the young superhero.
Supergirl is a prisoner
We did know that Supergirl will play a major role in the movie as Superman does not exist in the timeline due to The Flash traveling back in time to save his mother's life.
From the trailer we do know that Micheal Keaton's Batman and The Flash have to rescue her from a government facility and it is clear that since she was locked away in a dark room without any exposure to the yellow rays of the Earth's Sun, thus making her weak at least initially.
In the comic Kara aka Supergirl is Kal- El aka Superman's cousin who is sent to Earth like her cousin, unfortunately, she arrives decades after Kal-El but with help of her cousin learns to use her powers.
However since Clark Kent either doesnt exist or is MIA in this timeline, she has to figure things out on her own.
Possible Superman Cameo
There are a lot of rumored cameos in the Flash movie, we knew that Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, and Jason Momoa have finished their parts in the movie months ago.
But due to the massive changes in the movie, we don't know who has ended up on the cutting room floor but since this will be a reboot of the franchise there is still hope.
There could be a possibility that we already did catch a glimpse of Superman in the trailer, there is a small scene in the trailer we see Supergirl fly off into the sky with what appears to be the body of a young man.
This very well could be superman, in the Flashpoint comics, when Barry travels back in time, causing Superman instead of crashing and landing in Kansas, instead lands in an Army base was he is kept looked up to and experimented on till he is eventually rescued.
Two Barry Allens
The Trailer makes it clear that there will be two versions of Barry Allen in the movie, the younger one which has blue lighting like we have seen in the DCEU movies so far, and the older version which has yellow lighting.
The younger Barry Allen is seen in a black suit, initially, when this costume leaked online it was rumored that one version of Barry Allen will be playing the villain, however, this is not the case, the reason for the suit being black is because the younger Barry Allen uses one of Batman's old suits to make his superhero costume.
The movie is directed by Andy Muschietti and the rest of the cast includes Ron Livingston, Kiersey Clemons, Sasha Calle, and Maribel Verdú.
The Flash will hit theaters worldwide on June 16, 2023.
