The much-awaited trailer of The Archies is finally out now. Zoya Akhtar has helmed the Netflix movie which also marks the debut of Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Suhana Khan. It is based on the beloved cult-classic Archies comics.
Talking about the trailer, it introduces us to free-spirited 17-year-olds namely Archie (Agastya Nanda), Veronica (Suhana Khan), Betty (Khushi Kapoor), Reggie (Vedang Raina), Jughead (Mihir Ahuja), Dilton (Yuvraj Menda) and Ethel (Dot). We see them at their frivolous best as they navigate their studies, romances, and friendships. There is an inevitable love triangle between Archie, Veronica, and Betty. But it seems like Veronica will ultimately steal Archie’s heart. But their life turns topsy-turvy when it's announced that an age-old and loved park in Riverdale will be demolished to create a hotel. We further see many shops and stores given the demolition notice for bigger structures to pave the way hinting that the city has fallen prey to capitalism. Take a look at the trailer.
All hell further breaks loose when its found out that Veronica’s father is behind the demolition of the park. Her friends slowly start getting distant from her due to the same. However, she along with her friends join hands on a mission to save the park and find out a new meaning to life. The Archies will surely take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The costumes and the music too have a quirky vintage vibe.
No sooner was the trailer released than fans also started showering some love on the same. One of the fans stated, “Zoya Akhtar never dissappoints. It will be a cult for young generation.
