Thangalaan: GV Prakash hints ‘terrific’ trailer for Vikram-starrer coming soon!

Vikram and director Pa Ranjith’s long-awaited film Thangalaan is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Kollywood biggies releasing this year. While all the Chiyaan Vikram fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film, composer GV Prakash Kumar recently shared a quick update on the film. For the unversed, the popular Tamil composer has worked on the original background scores and soundtracks for the film.

Taking to his X handle, the composer revealed that he has finished the background score for the film and raved about the trailer. “Thangalaan bgscore completed. Have given my best. What a film. Looking forward to it. And what a terrific trailer is on your way soon you're gonna be mind blown. Indian cinema get ready for Thangalaan,” the composer wrote. 

Going by GV Prakash’s tweet, the trailer cut has been completed and will soon be released. If everything goes as planned, fans can expect to see the trailer of the film very soon!

Thangalaan release date buzz

While an official announcement is awaited, producer Dhananjayan recently confirmed that Vikram and Pa Ranjith’s film Thangalaan will be out in cinemas on August 15, 2024, Independence Day. It is a well-known fact that the film has faced several postponements. Now that there is talk of an August release, fans are eagerly waiting for an official confirmation. The film is currently in its post-production stage.

Thangalaan plot and cast

Helmed by Pa Ranjith, the upcoming period action drama stars Chiyaan Vikram in the leading role and is set against the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields in the 1900s during the British Raj. The film is co-written by Tamil Prabha and Azhagiya Periyavan, along with Pa Ranjith. 

The movie boasts a stellar star cast featuring Parvathy, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Preethi, and Arjun Prabhakaran in key roles. The film is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions overseeing production.
