Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram is deeply invested in the world of his upcoming movie Thangalaan and isn’t ready to let go of it anytime soon. In a recent revelation, Vikram expressed his eagerness to continue exploring the narrative, hinting at the possibility of multiple sequels and prequels, all rooted in rich historical material.

Speaking about the expansive universe that director-writer Pa Ranjith has crafted, Vikram shared, "This story reaches back to the Chola period." He claimed that Ranjith has delved deep into history, uncovering a wealth of material that could easily fuel at least three more parts.

Vikram highlighted the historical injustices perpetrated by the British against India, emphasizing how these events provide a treasure trove of untold stories. "The British committed countless injustices, stealing precious artefacts from us. For instance, we have to pay 5 pounds to see the Kohinoor diamond at the Tower of London, a gem that was stolen from India. There are so many stories like this," he observed.

The actor’s enthusiasm for the Thangalaan world suggests that the upcoming film might only be the beginning. "We are definitely going to make part 2, but we can easily create parts 3 and 4 as well. Each story will be different from the one that came before it," Vikram added, promising a fresh narrative with every instalment.

Vikram even hinted at a significant shift in his character’s appearance in future instalments. "Next time, when we watch Thangalaan, I won’t look like this. I will be in a suit," he said, suggesting an evolution in the storyline that could span different eras and settings.

Thangalaan is set for a grand release on August 15, coinciding with the Independence Day holiday. It's touted to be the most expensive film in Vikram's career with a budget of Rs 120 crore. In this period drama, Vikram plays the chief of a tribe group that joins forces with the British empire to unearth gold mines in Kolar.
