Thalapathy Vijay in The Greatest of All Time
Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film The Greatest of All Time is poised for an explosive start at the box office. With advance booking trends showing unprecedented demand, the film is on track to achieve an earth-shattering opening worldwide.
Advance bookings for the movie, which went live on Saturday, indicate that the film's global earnings are already estimated to exceed Rs 20 crore before its release. Theatres in key regions are witnessing a frenzy, with early morning shows in Bengaluru charging as much as Rs 1000 per ticket. Despite the high prices, most of these shows are already sold out, showcasing the immense popularity Vijay enjoys among his fans.
In Kerala, where Vijay commands a massive following, the film is set to dominate screens, with over 700 screens and more than 4000 shows planned. This is a record-breaking figure for a Tamil movie in the state. The pre-release ticket sales for the first day have already grossed over Rs 1 crore, positioning The Greatest of All Time to set new benchmarks at the Kerala box office.
Tamil Nadu is also witnessing a surge in demand for the film, with over 1100 out of 1150 screens in the state set to showcase the movie. This extensive release is expected to break previous box office records for Tamil cinema.
While the film is generating lower buzz in the Telugu states, this could shift on the day of release, potentially expanding its success even further. In recent years, Vijay's movies have performed exceedingly well in the Telugu states. With no new Telugu major releases, this film could become a huge draw for theatres there.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The Greatest of All Time is set to hit the screens on September 5.
