When Mamitha Baiju expressed her wish to work with Vijay

During one of her interviews in the past, the actress expressed that she is an ardent fan of Thalapathy Vijay and grew up watching his films as a celebration. She also mentioned that although she hoped to work with him someday, she believed the opportunity might not come since he had decided to bid goodbye to the cinema to focus on his political career.

Mamitha said, “I would miss watching his films, and I have always dreamt of working with him in a film, but now that won’t happen! When he announced his retirement, I was like, 'Oh man, now that dream won’t come true.' That was the first thought that came to my mind. His films are like a celebration, and I grew up watching them. I have been his die-hard fan since Ghilli, so him retiring from films is a bummer for all of us.”

As of now, the makers of Thalapathy 69 have onboarded Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju, with other rumored cast members, including Priyamani and Prakash Raj, expected to be announced soon.
