Thalapathy 69: Vijay kickstarts shooting for H Vinoth’s film with a song sequence | Deets inside

Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, Thalapathy 69, officially began production with a puja ceremony recently, and now the makers have commenced shooting. According to the latest reports, the film is starting with a song sequence, currently being shot in Paiyanur, Tamil Nadu, where Vijay and other cast members are filming a grand dance number. The song is reportedly choreographed by Sekhar, well known for popular numbers such as Saami from Pushpa, Kurchi Madathapetti from Guntur Kaaram, and the most recent Matta from The Greatest of All Time, starring Vijay.

The original music and background score for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who is gearing up to deliver a standout album for Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film.

As per reports, the first schedule of the film’s shooting is planned for two weeks before the team moves to the next schedule. Further updates about the film will be announced soon.

Can H Vinoth deliver a memorable farewell film for Vijay?

Vijay, who will be bidding farewell to cinema to focus on his political career, is all set to enthrall his loyal fans with his final film, helmed by H. Vinoth. While fans are eager to see what Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru director H. Vinoth has in store for Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, some fans are sceptical about the director’s ability to deliver a worthy commercial drama. For those unversed, H. Vinoth, who has helmed some of the finest thrillers in the past, has struggled to replicate that success in commercial entertainers. Although the makers of the upcoming Vijay-starrer seem to have placed a lot of confidence in Vinoth’s new script, only time will tell if he can deliver a memorable farewell for Thalapathy fans!

Thalapathy 69 cast

As announced earlier, Thalapathy 69 will feature Vijay in the lead role, with Bobby Deol playing the antagonist. Vijay’s Beast co-star Pooja Hegde has reunited with him in this final film and will play his love interest. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju, Narain, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Monisha Blessy, among others. On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav. The film is bankrolled by Karnataka-based production house KVN Productions in their Kollywood debut, and is scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2025 in Tamil, as well as Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
