At one point, multi-part filmmaking was considered a risky venture in Indian cinema. However, that changed with the success of the Baahubali series. Now, every big filmmaker and star wants to lead a franchise, leading to a trend where filmmakers stretch the plot and performances thin, splitting a single film into two for commercial reasons. However, Kanguva is different, according to its producers.

Producer Dhananjayan, the CEO of Studio Green, assured that Kanguva will offer full value for the audience’s money while also setting up an exciting lead to Part 2. "The end of Kanguva will create an exciting lead to Part 2. We have not artificially divided the story. Take, for example, Vikram. In the end, there was no need to introduce Rolex, but they did it to create a lead to the next part, and it ended the movie on a high note. Siva was very clear about giving a satisfying experience to the audience. But when it’s about to end, we will provide the lead to the next part. It will create the wow factor," he told the YouTube channel Little Talks.

Kanguva is expected to become the biggest hit of Suriya’s career. The film’s total budget is said to be over Rs 200 crore, making it the most expensive movie that Suriya has been a part of. "Kanguva will make the highest collection in Suriya's career. And only Kanguva 2 could outperform it in the future," Dhananjayan remarked.

Kanguva is not just in demand in Tamil Nadu but across the country. This film is expected to become the first Tamil movie to achieve pan-India success.

Speculations are also rife that Karthi, Suriya’s brother, has a key cameo in Kanguva, promising an extended role in Part 2. "We cannot comment on it yet as the discussions are still ongoing. But we will have some clarity on the matter soon," said Dhananjayan.

Kanguva is set to release in cinemas on October 10.
