Suriya's Kanguva clears censor with U/A certification and ZERO cuts! Runtime revealed

    Ahead of the much-awaited release of Suriya’s upcoming period fantasy film Kanguva, the film has now officially cleared its censor formalities. Directed by Siruthai Siva, Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, is scheduled for a massive release on November 14, 2024.

    According to the latest reports, the film has passed its censor formalities with a U/A certification and a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Interestingly, the film has cleared its censor requirements without any cuts and with just a few modifications. This news has fans beaming with excitement to see what Siva and Suriya have prepared for audiences this Children’s Day.

    Kanguva Telugu-dubbed version sells for record price

    According to the latest reports, the Telugu-dubbed version of Suriya's period fantasy film has been sold for a record-breaking Rs 25 crore, showcasing a massive rise in Suriya’s popularity within the Telugu market, surpassing previous records held by Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay.

    Producer KE Gnanavel Raja previously mentioned that the film is anticipated to gross Rs 2000 crore, with pre-release business already aligning with these expectations.

    Suriya, who has always enjoyed a huge fan base among Telugu audiences due to earlier hits like Ghajini, Veedokkade, and the blockbuster Singham, has Telugu fans eagerly awaiting his next fantasy spectacle.

    Kanguva cast and release date

    Helmed by Siva, the pan-India Tamil film Kanguva features Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and K. S. Ravikumar in pivotal roles. Kanguva is set in two time periods—one where Suriya plays a shadow cop, and the other as a tribal warrior from around 1500 years ago.

    On the technical side, National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad has crafted the original score and soundtrack. The cinematography is by Vetri Palanisamy, with editing by Nishadh Yusuf.

    Matka to clash with Kanguva

    Kanguva is set for a worldwide release on November 14, 2024, coinciding with Children’s Day, where it will face box office competition from the Telugu period film Matka, starring Varun Tej. Additionally, Amazon Prime Video has secured the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film.
