Suriya and Trisha
South diva Trisha undoubtedly has one of the most exciting lineups currently and is gearing up for multiple thrilling projects in the pipeline. From Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life to Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi, the actress doesn’t seem to take a break! Although her schedule looks packed, the Ponniyin Selvan star is all set to shoulder yet another exciting project.
According to sources, Trisha has been roped in to play the female lead in Suriya and RJ Balaji’s upcoming untitled project, Suriya 45. Although an official announcement is awaited, the latest grapevine suggests that the actress has been approached by the makers to play the female lead in the film. Notably, if the rumors are true, the collaboration will mark the actor duo's fifth collaboration. Trisha and Suriya have previously worked together as a pair in Aaru and Mounam Pesiyadhe, and as co-stars in Mani Ratnam's Aayutha Ezhuthu, though not as an on-screen pair. Additionally, they appeared together in the song Oyyale from Kamal Haasan and Trisha's film Manmadhan Ambu, where Suriya made a cameo appearance.
This film will also mark Trisha's maiden collaboration with RJ Balaji. The actress was earlier rumored to work with him on the sequel of Mookuthi Amman 2.
RJ Balaji on how Suriya came onboard for Suriya 45
In a recent interview, RJ Balaji, who is directing the film, revealed that Suriya approved his script immediately after a one-hour narration. He shared that this was the first time in 15–16 years Suriya agreed to a film after a single narration, adding that it made him very happy. "He was immediately impressed and agreed to do the film, and I was so happy to hear that from him," he said.
