Sudeep explains his refusal to discuss the Darshan case ahead of Max release: 'I don't know the person or...'
Sudeep has firmly distanced himself from ongoing controversies, including the sensational arrest of fellow actor Darshan in a murder case.
Sudeep about Darshan's arrest
Kannada superstar Sudeep has maintained a clear stance, choosing not to comment on the controversies surrounding the arrest of fellow actor Darshan in a murder case. Ahead of his upcoming movie Max, Sudeep politely declined to address the subject, requesting the media to refrain from compelling him to speak about matters unrelated to his life or work.
“Ask questions about Max. I will answer you because it’s my asset. Let’s talk about my life, about my mother—the greatest human being in my life. I’m ready to discuss such matters. Ask questions about my fans, Kannada, and Kannada people. Why I refuse to comment on certain issues is not because I can’t answer them, but because I don’t want to. It’s not my life, and I am in no way connected to it. I don’t even know the facts. Why should I comment on an unknown case, unknown person, and unknown situation?” Sudeep told a Kannada news channel.
Darshan was arrested earlier this year in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a case that has captivated public attention. Bangalore police detained the actor in June, accusing him of kidnapping and torturing Renukaswamy to death after the latter allegedly sent obscene messages to Darshan’s girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda. Although Darshan is now out on bail, the case remains under judicial scrutiny.
Meanwhile, Sudeep is engrossed in promoting Max, a film whose release was delayed due to post-production challenges. Amid his professional commitments, the actor is also mourning the recent loss of his mother, Saroja, whom he described as a profound influence in his life.
Max is slated to hit theatres on December 25.
