SSMB29 marks a dream collaboration between Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and acclaimed director SS Rajamouli. While the director has been sharing small updates regarding his location scouting for the film, his recent post has left fans both thrilled and surprised.

In his latest post, the RRR director shared a photo of himself standing in front of a striking image of a lion, captured by South African ichthyologist Chris Fallows. Tagging Mahesh Babu’s Instagram account on the lion’s face, Rajamouli’s post generated excitement among fans. However, netizens were particularly amused by the caption accompanying the post.

In the caption, the director wrote, “This is the King of the Serengeti, captured by Chris Fallows. His name is BOB Junior… Does it ring a bell?”

For context, “Bob” is a playful nickname given to the Telugu superstar by fans and social media users. This nickname, borrowed from the popular British animated series Bob the Builder, humorously references Mahesh Babu’s frequent portrayal of socially responsible characters who take charge of public welfare by building schools, hospitals, and other infrastructure.

After the post went viral, many users commented, speculating whether the director’s caption was intentionally mentioned to ‘troll’ audiences about Mahesh Babu’s popular nickname. One fan quickly commented, “BOB was not personal… IT’S INTENTIONAL,” while another user wrote, “Bro shook the internet by using the word BOB.”

Nevertheless, the director appears to be gearing up to create something extraordinary with this upcoming action-adventure film featuring Mahesh Babu.

Scheduled to begin shooting in January 2025, SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film is set to be a jungle-based action-adventure, reportedly to be shot primarily in Africa. The director has hinted at incorporating animals into the storyline, and Mahesh Babu is expected to undergo a significant physical transformation for his role, appearing in a completely new avatar. Inspired by elements of mythology, the film is expected to release in multiple Indian and international languages.
