After winning the audiences' hearts with Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is now all set to return with his next directorial, Spirit starring Prabhas. The film was announced on social media recently and it got the Prabhas fans quite excited! The actor-director will reportedly start shooting for the film in the first quarter of 2025, as the film will hit theatres in 2026. Mrunal Thakur to join Prabhas' Spirit?

Spirit, one of the most awaited films, will show Prabhas in a cop role. Now, the latest report suggests that Mrunal might team up with the actor as a female lead. A while ago, Pinkvilla reported that Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Bhushan Kumar are currently in talks with Mrunal. A source told the portal, "Spirit is the most ambitious and awaited films of Indian Cinema, and the makers are going all out to have the best and most talented actors of world cinema on board the film. While Prabhas is locked to play the role of a cop, the conversations are in progress with Mrunal Thakur, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor with the latter two for the negative turn."

The source further revealed that the Prabhas starrer is a 'one of its kind cop-based action thriller'. Currently, the writing work and prep are going in full swing, and the ones who have heard the narration have revealed that Vanga will reintroduce Prabhas like never before in Spirit. 

About Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's roles in Spirit

Reportedly, the real-life couple, Kareena and Saif will be seen in negative roles. The source revealed that they will have action sequences opposite Prabhas and others. The source added, "It’s the first time that a real life couple will be playing a negative role as a couple in a feature film. The two will also have a lot of action to do alongside Prabhas and other members. The paperwork for all the talents is yet to be done, as the discussions for monetary terms are underway."
