Sorga Vaasal release date announced! Here’s when RJ Balaji’s prison-break film will hit the theatres

    It's official! RJ Balaji’s upcoming film Sorga Vaasal is all set to hit the big screens on November 29, 2024. The actor-filmmaker took to his social media pages to unveil the new release date and shared a glimpse from the movie. Theupcoming film is directed by debutant Sidharth Vishwanath.

    Sharing the announcement, the makers wrote, “#SorgaVaasal in theatres from November 29th.”

    The glimpse features RJ Balaji as a prisoner attempting a daring prison break. It includes a voiceover that states life offers only two choices: to kneel in heaven or rise as the king of hell. The earlier-released teaser also showcases RJ Balaji as a criminal on a mission to escape. Set against a prison backdrop, the film promises a gritty and thrilling ride for fans, who can look forward to witnessing it in theatres by the end of the month. 

    About Sorga Vaasal

    As announced earlier, Netflix has acquired the streaming rights to the film, marking the directorial debut of Sidharth Vishwanath. The screenplay is co-written by Thamizh Praba, Ashwin Ravichandran, and Sidharth Vishwanath. Interestingly, Sidharth previously worked as an assistant director under renowned filmmaker Pa Ranjith.

    Bankrolled by Think Studios in collaboration with Swipe Right Studio, the film boasts an original background score and soundtrack by Christo Xavier, cinematography by Prince Anderson, editing by Selva RK, and art direction by S. Jayachandran.

    RJ Balaji's upcoming projects

    Meanwhile, the actor recently announced his dream directorial venture with Tamil star Suriya for the actor’s 45th film, tentatively titled Suriya 45. Billed as a mythological adventure drama, the movie is bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures and will feature music by AR Rahman.

    On the acting front, the comedian-turned-actor will also be seen in the satirical romantic film Happy Ending.
