Sookshmadarshini on OTT: Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph's film to stream on this platform?

    Now, reports suggest that Sookshmadarshini has locked its OTT platform and could be available early next year for streaming.

    Sookshmadarshini brought together Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph in a black comedy mystery thriller setting and still managed to win over the audiences and critics. Helmed by MC Jithin, the film was a winner at the box office. Fans of lead actors, who were not able to watch the film in theatres, have been eagerly looking for updates on the OTT release of the film. Now, reports suggest that Sookshmadarshini has locked its OTT platform and could be available early next year for streaming.

    According to the latest reports, Zee5 has bagged the OTT rights of Sookshmadarshini and the film is likely to begin streaming in January 2025. However, neither the makers nor the OTT platform has confirmed this update.

    Set in a neighbourhood, the film follows Priyadarshini (Nazriya Nazim) who lives with her husband (Deepak Parambol) and their young daughter. Priyadarshini is extremely inquisitive and takes a keen interest in the actions of Manual (Basil Joseph) who has moved into her neighbourhood with his mother. Along with her friends, Priyadarshini sets out to find the truth behind Manual’s actions.

    Sidharth Bharathan and Akhila Bhargavan of Premalu fame also play key roles in the film along with Pooja Mohanraj, Merin Philip, and Manohari Joy.

    Both Nazriya and Basil's performances were lauded in the film which had script by Athul Ramachandran and Libin TB.

    Meanwhile, Basil Joseph’s another recent film Nunakkuzhi is also available for streaming on Zee5.  Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film features Grace Antony, Siddique, Manoj K. Jayan, Baiju Santhosh, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese and Althaf Salim in key roles.

    The noted actor-director also has a couple of films, set for release early next year, such as Pravinkoodu Shappu Movie and Ponman. The makers of Pravinkoodu Shappu had recently shared the trailer of the film, which featured Basil as a cop. The film also stars Soubin Shahir and Cheman Vinod, among others.
