SK 25 launched: Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi and Atharva to team up for Sudha Kongara’s next

After a long wait, the most anticipated update has been announced! The much-awaited collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and acclaimed filmmaker Sudha Kongara has finally been officiated.

SK 25 offcially kick started

Sivakarthikeyan, after winning hearts with his last performance in Amaran, is all set to play the lead in Sudha Kongara's most anticipated project. For the unversed, prior to Sivakarthikeyan, the project was originally set to be led by Suriya, with Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya roped in for key roles in the film. However, the initially planned collaboration got shelved. Later, Sudha Kongara revamped the entire cast, bringing in Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela on board. Interestingly, the film marks the Tamil debut of Telugu sensation Sreeleela.

The originally planned project with Suriya was reportedly titled Purananuru, although an official announcement is awaited to confirm whether the makers will retain the same title or choose another one for SK 25.

Sharing the announcement, the makers posted photos of the cast and crew from the puja ceremony and wrote, "We are happy to announce that we are producing our Production No. 2 as a grand cinematic venture. It is our privilege to produce the 25th film of the talented actor Mr. Sivakarthikeyan, who has carved a unique place in the hearts of audiences with his exceptional performances in Tamil cinema. This milestone project will be helmed by National Award-winning director Mrs. Sudha Kongara, making it one of the most highly anticipated films.

We are pleased to have the actor who always chooses unconventional stories, Mr. Jayam Ravi, along with Mr. Atharvaa and Miss Sreeleela, joining hands in this project. Mr. Ravi K. Chandran will serve as the cinematographer, while Mr. G.V. Prakash Kumar will compose the music. Notably, this marks G.V. Prakash's 100th film, making it even more special. We assure you that #SK25 will deliver a truly unique theatrical experience."

SK 25 marks the maiden collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Sudha Kongara and is expected to feature Jayam Ravi in an antagonist’s role. 

The film’s music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, which coincidentally marks the composer’s 100th project. Notably, SK 25 will also mark Sivakarthikeyan’s second collaboration with G.V. Prakash Kumar after Amaran.

SK 25 is bankrolled by the Dawn Pictures banner, which is also producing Dhanush’s Idly Kadai.
