Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who is busy with the post-production work of The Greatest of All Time, tweeted a video message on Friday from actor Sivakarthikeyan praising Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu.

Venkat plays a supporting role in the buddy comedy, which was released in cinemas earlier this month. Sivakarthikeyan expressed his joy at the growth of Ananth Ram, who wrote, directed, and acted in Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu.

Sivakarthikeyan recalled Ananth playing a small role in his 2016 movie Remo and praised Ananth's perseverance, which helped him reach where he is today. He also noted that he was very impressed with the movie, describing it as highly relatable.

"I always believe that when you have excellent friends, success follows you. That line is an inspiration for me, and also the core idea of this movie. This film revolves around a group of friends; it's about their struggles and learnings. For example, if there are 60 scenes in the movie, at least 30-40 scenes will touch you in some way or another," Sivakarthikeyan said about Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu.

Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu revolves around a jobless youth who is subjected to constant taunts from his family and society. The protagonist is clueless about what he wants to do with his life and is unhappy doing odd and meaningless jobs just to keep his parents happy. He ends up founding an event management company with his friends and puts all his efforts into it to succeed against all odds.

Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu mostly stars new talents like RJ Vijay, Elango Kumaravel, Kulappulli Leela, and Irfan, among others. The film opened to favorable reviews from critics and is doing decent business at the box office, although it has been overshadowed by Tamil star Dhanush's Raayan at the Tamil Nadu box office.
