Silambarasna's gangster flick 'Pathu Thala' crosses 50 crores at the box office

Despite mixed reviews Silambarasn starrer Pathu Thal is still going strong at the box office, the gangster movie has grossed over 50 crores at the end of its sixth day in theaters.

The movie collected 32 crores from the Tamil Nadu Market. This is a great improvement considering that the movie only managed to collect 8 crores on its opening day.

Pathu Thala is directed by Obeli N. Krishna. The movie is a gangster flick and Simbu will be sharing the big screen with Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

The movie is a remake of the 2017 Kannada movie Mufi, which starred Shiva Rajkumar and Sriimurali. The movie follows the journey of an undercover police officer and his mission to bring down a notorious crime boss.

The music for the movie is composed by A.R Rahman and the first two singles from the movie have also been released and have met with positive reactions from fans.

The first single is 'Ninaivirukka' which has been sung by A R Ameen and Shakthisree Gopalan with lyrics by Kabilan. The second 'Namma Satham' and sung by A.R. Rahman and Yogi Sekar with lyrics by Vivek.

Simbu is currently preparing for his next project STR 48, the movie will be Silambarasan's first collaboration with director Desingh Periyasamy. The movie is expected to begin filming soon and the project will have the actor play a double role.

The project is produced by veteran actor Kamal Haasan and is rumored to be a period drama. The movie is reportedly said to have a budget of 100 crores making it one of the biggest projects in the actor's career.

The cast of Pathu Thala The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Teejay Arunasalam, Kalaiyarasan, and Redin Kingsley.

Pathu Thala is currently running in theaters.
