Shreyas Talpade's casting as Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Emergency backfires, fans think THIS actor could be better

Ever since Kangana Ranaut ’s Emergency was announced, netizens are agog about the casting of actors in the political drama. While Kangana is headlining the movie in the role of former India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Anupam Kher as Indian independence activist JP Narayan. Recently, the makers have unveiled the first look of former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee being played by Shreyas Talpade . However, the netizens have hailed Bajpayee’s cast albeit half-heartedly as they think Paresh Rawal would have been the better choice.

Taking to Instagram, Kangana introduced another character from the political drama with the caption that read, “Presenting @shreyastalpade27 as Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in #Emergency, a true nationalist whose love and pride for the nation was unparalleled and who was a young upcoming leader during the time of Emergency….”. Soon after the netizens shared their opinion in the comment section which is rather divided. While one user wrote, “ Very Talented but underrated actor..👏 Gud luck”, another wrote, “ Aaj tak bollywood isko dhang se use nhi kar paya, Superb casting 🔥”. While some felt Paresh fits right into Atal’s character. “He's a good talent! But Vajpayee role doesn't suit him! Tbh! Paresh Rawal sir will be perfect ❤️” Another added, “Itne talented actors kangana ki movie me aake waste ho rahe hei😢😢”. Have a look:

Emergency is being directed and produced by Kangana herself. She feels fortunate to have Shreyas on board. “We are fortunate to have him on board as he is a versatile actor. I personally feel that his performance in the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be one of the most memorable. We are lucky to have got a powerful performer like him to play this important role,” she said in a statement. On the other hand, Shreyas feels honoured. “Happy to play one of the most Loved, Visionary, a true patriot & Man of the masses…Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. I hope I live up to the expectations. It’s time for #Emergency! Ganpati Bappa Morya,” he tweeted.
