Shehzada Box Office Day 2: Kartik Aaryan starrer fails to see a steady growth; collects just this much
Despite the Maha Shivratri holiday, Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada has had a disappointing day 2 at the box office
It seems like Kartik Aaryan ’s climb to the top has come across a hurdle after his latest release Shehzada . Many expected it to be a bigger blockbuster than his horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, despite being a Hindi remake of a Telugu blockbuster. But it sadly failed to even collect half of what his last release had on day 1. The makers of the action entertainer even began a buy one get one offer on tickets for the Kartik and Kriti Sanon starrer. However, Shehzada had a lukewarm opening day with a collection of just Rs 6 crores.
Trade analysts expected better of day 2 because of the Maha Shivratri holiday. But sadly, Shehzada failed to see a steady growth in collection. Sharing the box office numbers for day 2, Taran Adarsh tweeted: “#Shehzada falls flat… Fails to register *major* growth/jump on Day 2, despite #MahaShivratri holiday… The journey ahead [weekdays] appears to be unsteady, since the trending over the weekend is lacklustre… Fri 6 cr, Sat 6.65 cr. Total: ₹ 12.65 cr [+/-]. #India biz.” Well, we are sure Kartik who turned co-producer with this film was not expecting this.
The lead actors left no stones unturned to make Shehzada a ‘much awaited’ film with their hectic promotions. Fans were even excited to see Kartik and Kriti together again. Well, the film has received mixed reviews so far, which are quite extreme. While some absolutely love it and have even called it better than the original, there are others who felt Kartik could not create the same magic superstar Allu Arjun did in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as Bantu.
Nevertheless, fans are still hoping that Kartik will be able to make up for this bump in the road with his upcoming string of releases. He currently has love saga Satyaprem Ki Katha opposite Kiara Advani in his kitty, along with Kabir Khan’s next film where the actor will portray the role of a boxer.
