Shehnaaz Gill and Guru Randhawa ’s heartbreak song ‘ Moon Rise ’ is finally out now. As expected by the posters, Shehnaaz and Guru’s chemistry is palpable and intense. However, that is the only saving grace of the song which is otherwise quite forgettable.

Talking about the song, it hints at Guru playing a jilted lover who is remembering his long-lost love. We see Shehnaaz looking beautiful in a red gown as she appears in a dream sequence. The song furthermore shows some mushy moments between Guru and Shehnaaz as a throwback. The two share a scintillating chemistry. The Honsla Rakh actress especially looks lovely in a light pink frilly dress. Take a look at the same.

However, apart from this, the song fails to impress. Unlike the earlier soulful tracks of Guru Randhawa, the lyrics, beats, and tonality of the song are rather underwhelming. The lead actors and their chemistry only try to make this song stay afloat. The song has been composed, crooned, and written by Randhawa while the music video has been directed by Gifty.

Rather than the quality of the song, the visuals and the performance of the lead pair leaves a mark. The song boasts of some picturesque visuals of the beachside. The fans were earlier treated to a glimpse of a fun BTS video from the song. Guru could be seen struggling to look at Shehnaaz’s face in a romantic manner that had left all her fans in splits. One of the fans commented on the song stating, “Mark my words: This onscreen chemistry breaks all records.” However, we wish the song would have been a little more-catchy to motivate us to listen to this one in a loop without the visuals. But alas! Shehnaaz Gill and Guru Randhawa’s presence in the song acts as the sole guiding anchor.
