Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki not being postponed, set to take on Prabhas starrer Salaar at box office

Ever since the release date announcement of Dunki and Salaar, there has been a war of words between Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas’ fans on social media. When it was reported that Salaar would lock horns with Dunki at the box office in December this year, even trade experts called it one of the biggest clashes of recent times. Amid the buzz around Dunki's postponement, it is now reported that there is no change in its release date. It is indeed clashing with Prabhas' film in December this year.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently clarified Dunki’s release date on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “SRK - ‘DUNKI’ NOT POSTPONED… Yes, #Dunki is arriving on #Christmas2023… #DunkiTeaser releasing soon! #SRK #RajkumarHirani.” Earlier Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan had stated, "Buzz: #SalaarVsDunki X #ShahRukhKhan's #Dunki likely to get POSTPONED. #Prabhas' #Salaar to get a SOLO record release." On X, film news page Lets Cinema wrote, "Reports suggest, #Dunki might get postponed from December 22nd due to delayed post-production timelines. Awaiting on official confirmation."

Several netizens reacted to ongoing buzz differently on micro-blogging sites about Dunki being postponed. While one user wrote, “They will not tweet..... Don't expect them to tweet for #DunkiPostponed Only after official announcement they will tweet because it's a matter of shame for bollywood to postpone when salaar is upto challenge.” Another user tweeted, “#Prabhas𓃵 #Prabhas fans getting fake #orgasms thinking #Dunki will be #DunkiPostponed... Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar is an action thriller which also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumarn in the lead roles. The film was earlier scheduled to be released in September but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Backed by Hombale Films, the film is set to arrive on December 22, 2023. On the other hand, Rajkumar Hirani’s directed Dunki, which centers around the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight', also feature Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh announced during Jawan event that the film will be arriving this Christmas.
