SDT18 - Aishwarya Lekshmi to star opposite Sai Durgha Tej in his first pan-Indian actioner

Recently, it was announced that Telugu actor Sai Durgha Tej (Sai Dharam Tej) will be headlining his first pan-Indian film, which has been tentatively titled SDT18. Directed by Rohith KP, the upcoming film is being produced by K. Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment, who backed the blockbuster HanuMan earlier this year. 

Aishwarya Lekshmi is the female lead of SDT18

The latest from the movie is that the makers have roped in Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi to play the female lead. Although an official announcement is awaited, a source close from the team has confirmed the update. 

Aishwarya made her Telugu film debut with the emotional drama Ammu in 2022.

All about Sai Durgha Tej’s upcoming high-octane action drama

SDT 18, which has yet to get its title, is helmed by Rohith KP and the announcement poster for the film was shared earlier by the makers. The poster featured a lone green tree in a desert surrounded by landmines. From this, one can infer that the story of the movie moves between borders. The caption on the poster reads, ‘The land that is longing for his arrival. He will ascend from the depths,’ indicating that the film is in the fantasy genre.

The producers also revealed that the film is a period drama set between 1947 and 1967 and that it will narrate the events that took place in Rayalaseema.

The filmmakers had earlier revealed that Sai Durgha Tej will play a formidable character in this high-octane period drama. The shooting for the film is currently going on and it is set to have a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. 

The movie is touted to be a high-octane action drama. Although the makers have not disclosed other details regarding the cast and crew, the movie is written and directed by Rohith KP.
