SDT 18 promo OUT: Sai Dharam Tej transforms into a terrific rugged warrior | Watch

Happy Birthday, Sai Dharam Tej! On the auspicious occasion of the Telugu star’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming period drama SDT 18 (tentative title) unveiled the first glimpse, or "intrude," of the film. Starring Sai Dharam Tej and Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles, the film is directed by Rohith KP.

SDT 18's glimpse is out

Sharing the new glimpse, the makers wrote, “With courage as his shield and hope as his weapon, he’s the last one standing. Team #SDT18 wishes the indomitable Mega Supreme Hero, @IamSaiDharamTej, a powerful birthday. Here’s a special INTRUDE INTO THE WORLD OF ARCADY.” The new glimpse opens with the puja ceremony of the film, where the leading man, Sai Dharam Tej, arrives on the set in style. The glimpse then showcases behind-the-scenes footage, where leading lady Aishwarya Lekshmi is seen interacting with crew members.

The glimpse also features an extravagant shot from the film, set against the backdrop of a village-like setting from an earlier era. The camera then pans toward Sai Dharam Tej’s character, who plays a fierce villager in the movie. Although the actor's first look is not fully revealed, a backshot of his character, dressed in a dhoti and holding a sharp weapon, is seen standing and gazing at the flaming land.

Based on the glimpse, the film appears to be a historical period drama. While the makers have not disclosed much about Sai Dharam Tej’s character, they previously revealed that Aishwarya Lekshmi will be playing the character of Vasantha in the movie.

Touted as a fantasy period drama, SDT 18 marks the 18th film of Sai Dharam Tej’s career. The movie hints at narrating the story of a man who saves the land from evil forces. According to reports, the film is set between 1947 and 1967 and depicts events that occurred in Rayalaseema. Sai Dharam Tej is set to play a powerful role in this intense period drama. The shooting is currently in progress, and the film is slated for a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The movie is produced by K. Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment, who also backed the blockbuster HanuMan earlier this year.
