The film starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani deals with the sensitive subject of date rape and gaining regular footfalls at the start of the first week. Though the collection witnessed an almost 65 per cent drop on its first Monday, the Tuesday remained stable. The film is approaching Rs 50 crore in earnings quite impressively.

With the addition of Rs 4.15 crore and 4.20 crore on Monday and Tuesday respectively, the total collection now stands at Rs 46.91 crore as per reports. It won’t be too long before the film will surpass the Rs 50 crore within its first week.
Made on a budget of approximately Rs 65-70 crore, the film’s fantastic business will soon put it on the rank of hit movies. After the Shehzada debacle, Kartik has revived himself at the box office with Satyaprem Ki Katha. Earlier, his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 turned out to be a blockbuster hit, turning him into a bankable actor. On the other hand, Kiara Advani’s winning streak at the box office continues after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Satyprem Ki Katha is the story of Sattu(Kartik) and Katha(Kiara). Sattu falls in love with Katha at first sight and luckily her parents approach him for a marriage proposal. Eventually, the two tie the knot but later their marital life hit a rough patch after Katha’s truth unravels. The film also stars Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Shikha Talsania and Rajpal Yadav. The film arrived in theatres on June 29, 2023.
The DesiMartini’s review reads, “The movie has enough meat in the second half for viewers to remain glued – but are they willing to give moviemakers a long rope? As Gajraj Rao astutely mentions in one of the scenes – tea doesn't develop taste if boiled too early; to which Katha replies – tea also turns harsh if kept on flame for a longer time. Unlike the first half, which is too stretched, the second is crisp and smartly edited. And, the movie does have a good message for all!”
