The film witnessed a major spike on Sunday(Day 4) and minted Rs 12.15 crore, it's highest collection so far.
Satyaprem Ki Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani continues to pull the audience to the theatres. The romantic drama, which was released on June 29, 2023, has surpassed Rs 35 crore in just four days. The film witnessed a major spike on Sunday(Day 4) and minted Rs 12.15 crore, it's highest collection so far.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Sameer Vidwans’ directorial opened at Rs 9.25 crore collection. The film slightly dipped on Friday, minting a mere Rs 7 crore. On Saturday, the film saw a 45 per cent jump, registering an earning of Rs 10.10 crore at the box office. And Sunday accelerated the box office momentum, taking the total collection to Rs 38 crore so far. Despite mixed reviews, the film remained steady at the box office. If the triumphant run persists, the film may not be far from crossing the Rs 50 crore mark in the first week.
Written by Karan Shrikant Sharma, Satyaprem Ki Katha revolves around a good-hearted boy named Sattu(Kartik Aaryan) whose dream of getting married to Katha(Kiara Advani) gets fulfilled but then follows a twist. The film deals with the sensitive subject of date rape and also gives out an important social message. Besides Kartik and Kiara, the film also has Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Shikha Talsania, Rajpal Yadav, and Anuradha Patel in pivotal roles.
Our DesiMartini team gave three stars to the movie and the review reads, “Karan Shrikant Sharma’s story had the heart in its right place but the weak screenplay makes the first half quite over-the-top. However, after the interval, the audience may find their interest back as Katha’s hard-hitting truth begins to shatter Sattu’s heart. No spoilers here, but the climax scene will be hard for the mass audience to imbibe as it has a long but sensible lecture on manhood. The film ends with ‘Satyanaryan ki Katha’, the old name of the movie, which the makers had to abort. It was a win-win for both Sattu and Katha, and their characters paint a love story of great strength, dignity and sacrifice.”
