Saripodhaa Sanivaaram sequel on the cards? Nani drops major hints

Nani’s upcoming film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Telugu actioners of the year. Ahead of its grand release, the lead cast has been aggressively promoting the film, which is set to hit big screens on August 29, 2024. During one such promotional interview, Nani discussed whether the film would have a sequel.

Nani spoke about various elements of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, including the potential to turn it into a franchise. He mentioned that the story has room for a sequel and that the next installment will be made if audiences make Saripodhaa Sanivaaram a blockbuster this weekend. 

Judging by pre-booking sales, the film has been generating solid buzz among audiences, who are eager to watch it in cinemas. The advance bookings suggest that the movie will have a strong opening for the actor. Since the film is being released in multiple languages to cater to a broad audience, the makers are confident of its success. While it will debut as Saripodhaa Sanivaaram in Telugu, the movie is titled Surya’s Saturday in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

 According to pre-release reports, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram delivers an engaging first half but struggles in the second, with pacing issues and length being drawbacks. While initial reports indicate that it doesn't have blockbuster-worthy content, it isn't a complete miss either. Overall, the film falls in the average to above-average range, making it a decent watch.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram plot and cast

Based on the trailer, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram revolves around Surya, a young man who, after reaching his breaking point, decides to confront his fears and take action. He stands up to CI Daya, a brutal cop who targets people from Shokulapalam. The story follows Surya's struggle to protect the people of Shokulapalam from Daya's cruelty. 

Written and directed by Vivek Athreya, the film stars Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and SJ Suryah in the lead roles, with Aditi Balan, Abhirami, Murali Sharma, Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, and Harshavardhan in supporting roles. On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy has composed the background score and soundtracks, Murali G handles cinematography, and Karthika Srinivas is responsible for editing. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 29, 2024.
