Nani’s upcoming action drama Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Tollywood releases of August 2024. Directed by Vivek Athreya, this Telugu action thriller centers around Nani’s character, who acts out only one day a week—on Saturdays. While Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the female lead, SJ Suryah plays the antagonist in this action drama.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram release date

The Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is set for a grand worldwide release on August 29, 2024. The film will be released in Telugu, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, under the title Surya's Saturday.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram plot

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram follows the story of Surya, played by Nani, a young man who only unleashes his anger on Saturdays. He is known for protecting vulnerable people and shielding the residents of Shokulapalam from a menacing cop, CI Daya, played by SJ Suryah.

The trailer kicks off with a young Surya (played by Nani) expressing that his patience has run out, and with no more tears left, he is forced to take action to overcome his fears. The scene then shifts to SJ Suryah's character, CI Daya, a ruthless cop who mercilessly unleashes his fury on others. When Priyanka Mohan's character, a constable, asks another character about CI Daya's brutality, the person explains that Daya primarily targets those born in Shokulapalam, implying that being from Shokulapalam is considered a crime in Daya's eyes. The crux of the story revolves around how Surya protects the people of Shokulapalam from CI Daya's wrath.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram cast and crew

Written and directed by Vivek Athreya, the film features Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. Supporting cast includes Aditi Balan, Abhirami, Murali Sharma, Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, and Harshavardhan. On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy has composed the background score and soundtracks, Murali G handles cinematography, and Karthika Srinivas is in charge of editing.

As announced earlier, the digital rights for the Nani-starrer have been acquired by Netflix and will be available for streaming on the platform after its theatrical run.

According to reports, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 90 crores.
