Akshay Kumar has unveiled the first look of his upcoming film Sarfira which is the remake of Suriya’s 2020 Tamil acclaimed film Soorarai Pottru. The Hindi remake has been produced by Suriya and his wife Jyothika. National-award-winning director Sudha Kongara who also helmed the original movie has also directed the Hindi remake.

The announcement teaser of Sarfira shows Akshay’s character enjoying a bike ride to the fullest as he leans backward with his arms outstretched with an ecstatic expression on his face. The teaser reads that the movie is an ‘incredible story of chasing one’s dream.’ The logline of the film reads ‘Dream so big, they call you crazy.’ The last scene of the teaser shows Akshay’s character standing against the backdrop of the Deccan Air airline, a shot that was also very important in Soorarai Pottru. We can see the catchy title track of the movie playing in the background. Take a look at the same.

Kumar captioned the same stating, “Dream so Big, they call you Crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024.” In the caption, the release date of Sarfira has been revealed to be July 12, 2024. The film also stars Radhika Madan, and Paresh Rawal who was also a part of the original film along with Seema Biswas. The film has been penned by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi. The original film was inspired by the events from the life of GR Gopinath who was the founder of the Indian low-cost airline Simplify Deccan.

An earlier statement from the makers of Sarfira read, “Sarfira is all set to inspire the common man to dream big and to chase your dreams even if the world calls you crazy. Sarfira is a uniquely Indian story of grit, determination and jugood, of an underdog challenging the socio-economic fabric of a system entrenched in class, caste and power dynamics." Apart from Sarfira, Akshay also has the much-awaited Bade Miyan Chote Miya in the pipeline.
