Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has strongly responded to Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha's controversial comments regarding her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya. Surekha claimed that former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao was involved in the breakdown of their marriage, allegedly through blackmail and other manipulative tactics. Samantha, however, dismissed these remarks as baseless and urged public figures to be more responsible with their statements.

In a dignified yet firm response, Samantha issued a statement addressing the minister's comments. "To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight — it takes a lot of courage and strength," Samantha said. She further added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey has turned me into — please don’t trivialize it. I hope you realize that your words carry significant weight as a minister.”

Samantha also stressed the importance of respecting individuals' privacy, particularly in matters as personal as marriage and divorce. "My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn't invite misrepresentation," she emphasized. She clarified that her divorce from Naga Chaitanya was mutual and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved, saying, "Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so."

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, one of South India’s most beloved couples, announced their separation in 2021, much to the shock of their fans. The couple, who got married in 2017, had been together for nearly a decade before deciding to part ways. Their separation sparked widespread speculation and rumours, but both actors have consistently maintained that the split was amicable.
